The National Council for Population and Development  is set to Launch the Sessional Paper no 1 of 2023 on the Kenya National Population Policy for Sustainable Development.

Key Objectives of the Population Policy will be:

▪ To attain a population age structure that will accelerate economic development.

▪ To promote initiatives that enable individuals and couples make informed choices on family size.

▪ To promote policies and interventions that improve health and increase the lifespan of people in all age groups.

▪ To address challenges and maximize opportunities arising from movement of people and growing of cities to achieve national development goals.

▪ To Promote integrated approaches to address population, environment and disaster challenges to achieve sustainable development.

▪ Enhance availability, accessibility and utilization of reliable and timely population data by use of technology and innovation.

▪ Advocate for domestic financing for implementation of population policy and programme.

▪ Accelerate progress to achieve the national population policy goal through awareness creation, increasing citizen engagement and strengthening broad-based support and action.
