Gender Data Analysis Workshop Opening Remarks BY Director General NCPD.
Distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen, good morning!
It is with my great pleasure to welcome you to the Gender Data Analysis Workshop.
This event is hosted by the National Council for Population and Development (NCPD) in collaboration with Johns Hopkins University and Breakthrough Action Kenya.
NCPD is a government agency charged with the responsibility of coordinating the implementation of population policy and programmes in Kenya.
The collaboration with the Data for Health Gender Equity Unit is a major step towards ensuring gender issues are integrated into health data systems. This will ultimately lead to more equitable health outcomes.
This training workshop is critical for our collective efforts for achieving gender equity in health data and vital statistics. The workshop also presents an opportunity for participants to improve their understanding and application of gender analysis.
The knowledge and skills gained will empower the participants to advance the experience within their respective organizations. We envision that the insights shared and the methodologies learned will be cascaded and disseminated.
We are particularly excited to bring together a diverse and cross-cutting technical team from Kenya, South Africa, Liberia, India and Vietnam. This gathering of expertise will foster sustained collaboration in the realm of gender data analysis.
I take this opportunity to express our sincere appreciation for the invaluable work of Johns Hopkins University. Their commitment to advancing health equity through data-driven approaches has been instrumental in shaping this workshop.
The expertise and resources they bring to the table are vital in equipping the participants with the necessary tools to analyze gender data effectively.
I would also like to acknowledge and applaud the organizers for their excellent arrangements and preparation for this workshop.
As we embark on this journey, I encourage each of you to engage actively, ask questions, share your insights, and collaborate with one another.
Together, we can pave the way for meaningful advancements in gender equity in health data.
Thank you for being here, and I look forward to a productive and inspiring workshop.
I hereby, declare this workshop officially opened!!
THANKYOU!
