Mwongela Mikwa has several seven years’ experience in Corporate Communications and journalism having held several positions in the corporate ladder. Before joining NCPD, he served as the Head of Public Relations and Marketing at The Co-operative University of Kenya, a position he has held over the last seven years. He is a Fellow at the Institute for Co-operative Digital Economy at The New School, New York.
He has taught Journalism and Public Relations at the Centre for Open and Distance Learning (ODEL), Masinde Muliro University of Science & Technology as well as other middle level journalism schools in Kenya. In his career, he has attended various National and International conferences. With keen research interests in the Digital economies, new media and Journalism, he has published several academic papers in peer reviewed journals and also serves as a peer reviewer in editor in notable academic journals.
Mwongela holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism and Mass Communication a Master Degree in Communication Studies and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Communication Studies.
