CPA, JOHN MAKAU, brings to the council a wealth of rich work experience, professional qualifications in Finance and Accounting background spanning to over 15 years. Throughout his career, he has maintained highest performance standards within a diverse range of Financial Planning, Financial Reporting, Accounting and taxation, Budgetary processes, Revenue management, Corporate governance, External and Internal Audit functions and Project administration functions.
This is illustrated by his past successes in Public, International Non-Governmental Organizations and private Sector where he has worked at senior executive level, previously, he served as the Chief Finance Officer/CA at National Council for population and Development (NCPD), as the Head of Finance and Accounting and also worked with Private corporations, World Bank, UNFPA, County Governments among others.
Currently pursuing his PhD in business Administration-Finance at JKUAT, holder of Master of Science Degree(Msc–Finance) from the University of Nairobi and Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting(BCOM))
Hold the following professional qualifications and membership; CPAK, CPSK, CISA, ERPs and ISO implementation and a member of ICPAK, ICS.IoDK, ISACA amongst others
Undertaken Strategic Leadership Development program course(SLDP) at the Kenya school of Government among other short courses in Leadership, management and professional skills.
