The National Council for Population and Development (NCPD) proudly welcomes Hon. Ali Wario, CBS, the new Board Chairperson — a seasoned leader whose wealth of experience, strategic insight, and commitment to public service heralds a new dawn for the Council.
Hon. Wario brings with him a distinguished record of leadership and governance spanning over two decades, marked by dedication to national development, social equity, and inclusive growth.
Education
Hon Wario holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Political Science from the University of Nairobi and a Diploma in Social Work from the same University.
Professional and Leadership Experience
- He has been the Member of Parliament for Bura Constituency in Tana River County for three consecutive terms from 2003 to 2022.
- He has also held leadership positions as chairperson of National Council on Occupational Safety and Health, Ministry of Labour and Social Protection – State Department of Labour, the Departmental Committee on Labour and Social Welfare, National Assembly, The African Union Special Task Force on Pastoral Policy Initiative, Kenya Livestock Marketing Council and COFI Sacco.
