Past China-Africa Conferences on Population and Development

Over the years, NCPD and CPDRC have established strong collaboration in advancing population and development initiatives through technical exchanges and capacity building under the framework of South-South Cooperation.

The 1st China-Africa Conference on Population and Development was inaugurated in Kenya in 2017, focusing on the role of South-South and Triangular Cooperation in Harnessing the Demographic Dividend in Africa. It paved the way for subsequent conferences—the second held in 2018 in Guangzhou, China, and the third in 2019 in Accra, Ghana. These earlier gatherings laid a strong foundation for sustained collaboration and knowledge exchange between China and African nations.
