DANISH AMBASSADOR TO KENYA PAYS A COURTESY CALL TO NCPD

Earlier today the Danish Ambassador to Kenya H.E. Amb. Ole Thonke paid a courtesy call to NCPD’S Director General Dr. Sheikh Mohamed at the Council’s offices in Nairobi. The two discussed the progress and implementation of the Kenya’s country commitment during the 2019 ICPD25 Nairobi Summit.

The NCPD’s Director General Dr. Sheikh Mohamed noted that NCPD plays a key role in Analyzing multi-sectoral population issues and developing population-related policies while providing leadership and coordinating and mobilizing support for population programmes. He underscored that the Council remains steadfast in providing leadership in population and development issues and partnering with institutions and other partners in order to realize mandate.

Kenya hosted the ICPD25 Nairobi Summit in November 2019 and the nation made 17 commitments which The National Council for Population and Development was tasked to track and monitor their implementation.
